Screening of “"Come See Me in the Good Light” Screening fundraiser

Screening of “"Come See Me in the Good Light” Screening fundraiser

Screening of “Come See Me in the Good Light” is coming to the Academy of Music this January — a community celebration of Andrea Gibson, whose poems have held so many of us through heartbreak, illness, identity, and becoming. Their words have changed the way queer folks, survivors, poets, and tender people everywhere understand themselves.

Sharing this film here, in our own community, feels like bringing a lantern into the room and saying: come sit with us, you’re not alone.

This event is also a fundraiser for us Translate Gender - our fabulous trans-led org that works to empower and care for trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth, their families and our larger community through innovative programs and happenings right here in Western MA.

We’re lucky to have two incredible artists joining us:
MC: Mary Lambert— acclaimed singer-songwriter and dear friend of Andrea
And Adrie Rose_ — award-winning poet and editor

Tickets info TBD

Connect and sign up with local groups working on: climate action, immigration, housing, Palestine, LGBTQ+, corporate power.

Learn about effective strategies to fight back against the rise of authoritarianism through organized non-cooperation, such as boycotts and strikes.

Be inspired by the words of our current and previous Poet Laureates.
